For about a week, God has been repeating the term “sleeping giants” to me. I know He’s speaking of His spiritual warriors and not the “giants of the land”—a term referring to evil strongholds of any given area (Joshua 17:15). As Christians, we are the true giants.
I believe that God is rousing His warriors to higher levels of awareness and discernment. This awakening comes in the midst of difficult personal trials. When we turn to God in our times of pain and battle, casting every care and every fear upon Him, He always responds with love and truth.
During the toughest times, God gives us new alertness to His presence. Just a brief glimpse of Jesus’ heart will boost our confidence in Him and thereby quicken our progress. A small foretaste of His beauty and power is deeply energizing.
Warriors, it's time for us to arise! As the Lord increases our wakefulness, let us obey the clarity of His voice! Let's mo...
After a long absence, I'm beginning again to post short, casual articles to this blog. 2016 turned out to be an extremely busy year. God gave me a "green light" to self-publish, so I compiled a devotional book that includes 90 of my INSPIRATION articles (not these blog articles).
I have a new-found respect for traditional publishing houses. I imagined the preparation for my book would take a few weeks—possibly a couple months. After all, the book was already written. But this project gradually stretched into five very long months of determined effort. Many intimidating hurdles had to be conquered. "Giants of the land" were teaming up to stop me. (Technology had to be confronted head-on. Hidden information was hunted down and forced to come out with its hands up.)
No, self-publishing is not for the faint of heart. But God kept remi...
Today is a perfect day to "arise and shine." The glory of the Lord is truly upon His people. But, if you doubt what I say, then please consider God's word on the subject:
Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! - Isaiah 60:1 AMPC.
I like how the Amplified Classic Bible gives added insight into the familiar, childhood words of "rise and shine." This should leave no doubt about God's desire for us.
On a day when I needed reminding of these words, the Holy Spirit quoted them to me. He purposely cited the AMPC version to convey the extra meaning. I was excited to hear this in my spirit. It's always thrilling to hear from God. I thanked Him for His direction, and I thought for a while about "rising and shining." Bu...
