For about a week, God has been repeating the term “sleeping giants” to me. I know He’s speaking of His spiritual warriors and not the “giants of the land”—a term referring to evil strongholds of any given area (Joshua 17:15). As Christians, we are the true giants.
I believe that God is rousing His warriors to higher levels of awareness and discernment. This awakening comes in the midst of difficult personal trials. When we turn to God in our times of pain and battle, casting every care and every fear upon Him, He always responds with love and truth.
During the toughest times, God gives us new alertness to His presence. Just a brief glimpse of Jesus’ heart will boost our confidence in Him and thereby quicken our progress. A small foretaste of His beauty and power is deeply energizing.
Warriors, it's time for us to arise! As the Lord increases our wakefulness, let us obey the clarity of His voice! Let's mo...
The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory - Isaiah 6:19 ESV.
God has been very talkative lately, and I am thrilled with that! I love hearing what's on His mind for me each day, and I love getting answers to my questions.
Rising and shining is still on my mind (see Nov. 5 post), and God is telling me more:
Christians "arise and shine" through worship. This is where we connect with God on a very personal level. During worship, we encounter Him in new ways, and we form a bond of love that is strong. This bond is what God deeply desires to have with us.
Christians "arise and shine" by faith. No matter what our situation looks like in the natural, it is our faith in God and His Word that keeps our feet on solid spiritual ground. And only on this solid ground are we able to arise and step into our destiny. Needles...
Today is a perfect day to "arise and shine." The glory of the Lord is truly upon His people. But, if you doubt what I say, then please consider God's word on the subject:
Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! - Isaiah 60:1 AMPC.
I like how the Amplified Classic Bible gives added insight into the familiar, childhood words of "rise and shine." This should leave no doubt about God's desire for us.
On a day when I needed reminding of these words, the Holy Spirit quoted them to me. He purposely cited the AMPC version to convey the extra meaning. I was excited to hear this in my spirit. It's always thrilling to hear from God. I thanked Him for His direction, and I thought for a while about "rising and shining." Bu...
