Rise and Shine
Today is a perfect day to "arise and shine." The glory of the Lord is truly upon His people. But, if you doubt what I say, then please consider God's word on the subject: Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! - Isaiah 60:1 AMPC. I like how the Amplified Classic Bible gives added insight into the familiar, childhood words of "rise and shine." This should leave no doubt about God's desire for us. On a day when I needed reminding of these words, the Holy Spirit quoted them to me. He purposely cited the AMPC version to convey the extra meaning. I was excited to hear this in my spirit. It's always thrilling to hear from God. I thanked Him for His direction, and I thought for a while about "rising and shining." But I still needed specific guidance for my unique situation. With a desire for clarification, I quietly asked, "How do I DO that?" God responded without delay, saying, "Go up early into the mountains and pray like Jesus did to learn my will. I will give you the direction you need." Now that I'm retired, I am able to get up and meet with God at the crack of dawn and spend an hour with Him—or longer. I've been set free to do such things! And now I have a personal invitation, straight from the heart of God.
