It's Only Gonna Get Better!
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together - Psalm 34:2-3. When I get up early to spend time with the Lord in my prayer room, first I light one or more candles. (This is not a "religious" thing. I do it because meeting with God is special.) Then I open the mini-blinds so I can watch the dawn. I'm in a rural location, so I feel sure that no one is looking in at me. On a recent morning, I was reading from my Bible, using a flashlight instead of a lamp, when I noticed red-orange light reflecting off the wall. I looked out the window and saw the actual scene above. It seemed that God was saying, "Good morning, Susan. Look out here, and see what I've made for you. You're going to like the color." This only happened because I was in the right place at the right time—meeting with God, first thing in the morning. When I respond to His invitation, I'm never disappointed. I'm finding that God loves to love me. He gives me very special personal gifts that are "homemade"—like a sunrise, or a phone call from a friend. He tells me the most exciting things, day after day after day. (With God, the good news never ends.) And He often tickles my funny bone. Sometimes I laugh out loud at the humorous thoughts we share. I can't imagine not being this close to God. And now I'm smiling because I know for sure... It's only gonna get better!
